We discovered a special lot of land; we have created a marvelous vineyard, a world class winery, a fantastic wine. We have exploited the richness and uniqueness of this amazing soil and local nature, in the spirit of simplicity and excellence, inspired by the soul of the historical and cultural heritage of Tuscany.
When Silvano Maggioni discovered this unique 7-hectare lot facing the beautiful Follonica bay, he could not suspect yet the “terroir” and the micro-climate conditions would favor the development of an amazing vineyard. His son Simone envisioned the creation of a great product, a wonderful wine, the result of modern wine-making science and ancient art. In the homeland of the 3000 years old Etruscan civilization, at the skirts of the renaissance city of Massa Marittima, La Pace is a perfect synthesis of old and new. After carefully studying the geological properties, the choice was made: the next great wine offered by Tuscany would be a choice of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Chardonnay and Viognier.

La Pace is designed with the highest quality criteria, without any compromises. The vineyards are biological, all processes are manually performed by most expert and caring personnel.
Podere La Pace produces a limited number of 25,000 bottles annually. Our grapes are Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Chardonnay and Viognier. The first vintage is 2013.
We propose five wine labels: White, Red, Black, Blue and Gold. The top wine, the Gold Label, is a pure Cabernet Franc; starting 2015 a 100% Gold Label Merlot will also be available. Gold Labels are available only in very good harvest years, simply the best grapes of the best years, aged at 18-24 months in oak barrels and 12 months in bottle. The Black Label is a blend with prevalence of Cabernet Franc, aged in different oak barrels for a minimum of 15 months. The Red Label is a blend with prevalence of Cabernet Sauvignon. The White Label is a surprising white wine, a blend of Chardonnay and Viognier, also aged in French oak barrel for an average 6 months. The Blue Label is an outstanding blend of the four red varieties, specially assembled for our restaurant partners. We also offer our own Grappa and Grappa Riserva (aged 18 months in our barrels), a distillation of our highly selected grapes.
